“I’ll Start in 5 Minutes” – The Most Repeated Lie of My Academic Career

“just 5 mins.”

that’s it.
those 3 little words have ruined my entire schedule, multiple times, every single week.

i’ll say it at 4:55 pm…
“i’ll start at 5 sharp.”

then suddenly:
– at 5:01 i’m hungry
– at 5:12 i remember a random youtube video
– at 5:30 i scroll instagram to “get in the zone”
– at 6:00 i start planning tomorrow
– by 7:00 i’m spiraling in guilt and snacks

and boom.
study = not done.
plan = ruined.
mind = fried.
me = still saying “from tomorrow pakka.”

fun fact:
my books have been opened more times for photos than for actual study 💀

also, why is it that
when i finally start reading,
my brain suddenly wants to:

– clean the room
– rearrange highlighters
– find songs i haven’t heard since 2019
– and overthink my entire life?

bro i just wanted to finish 1 topic 😩

but still, no matter how many times i delay,
i always bounce back.

sometimes with half motivation,
sometimes just vibes,
but i always come back to the book like:
“chal bhai, ab sahi mein start karte hain.”

so yeah… this blog is for everyone
who has lied to themselves with “just 5 mins”
but still shows up and studies anyway.

you may not be on time.
but you're still on track.
and that's enough.
